National Conference Steering Committee
The committee is made up of the conference co-chairs as well as the DHPE Executive Director, CDC staff assignee, the co-chairs of Marketing Committee, Program Committee, Host Committee and Workshop Committee; also the Conference Contractor(s) and Abstracts Chairperson.
Awards Committee
The Awards Committee distributes the DHPE/CDC Health Education and Health Promotion Awards.
Training and Education Committee
The training and education committee provides member oversight on training and learning efforts of DHPE. The committee’s scope includes the Public Health Education Leadership Institute, overseeing the continuing education credits, and distance learning efforts.
Executive Committee/Board of Directors
The Executive Committee/Board of Directors consists of the elected officers of the Association. There are six officers and eight members at large. These 14 people meet monthly to review association activities and finances. They develop the strategic plan and coordinate activities that are consistent with the Association mission.
Leadership and Management Committee
This committee’s efforts focus on cultivating and identifying new leadership within the Association, assisting the Executive Committee and Executive Director with Association human resource issues, and conducting the annual nomination process for Association Officers.
Legislative Committee
The Legislative Committee advocates on behalf of DHPE for health promotion and education programs, policies, and funding that address the nation's leading health problems.
Membership Services Committee
Responsible for new member orientation and existing member "re-orientation." Establishes, maintains and improves DHPE's communication efforts towards its members. Develops strategies for member retention, renewals and recruitment. Oversees DHPE's online newsletter, "The Voice" and reviews member marketing efforts. Reviews member benefits on an ongoing basis.
National Conference Program Planning Committee
The Committee collaborates with CDC to jointly sponsor the national conference on health promotion and education. It identifies sessions and topics, plenary and concurrent sessions along with speakers; plans and evaluates topics for workshops (pre-conference or post-conference); integrates written abstracts into the program; and plans events such as hot topics roundtables, continental breakfast networking and other related activities for conference attendees. The committee members generally assist in marketing the conference.
Resource Development Committee
This committee is responsible for working with the Treasurer to review the budget, expenditures, fiscal condition, and accounting system of the Association.
