Prevention Research Centers (PRCs)

DHPE Staff: Pam Eidson, M.Ed.

In summer 2002, DHPE and the Chronic Disease Directors together assessed interest and willingness to work together of state health agencies and Prevention Research Centers. A request for proposals was issued. States and PRCs working together on these projects in 2002-03 were Alaska/University of South Florida, Connecticut/Yale, Kentucky/University of Kentucky, Maine/Harvard, and Minnesota/St Louis University. In 2004, DHPE will develop fact sheets to explain PRC areas of interest to health promotion and education units.
