Public Health Education Leadership Institute (PHELI)

The PHELI program completed nine year-long cycles and graduated 93 public health education fellows. However, the program became cost-prohibitive. The DHPE board is looking into a modified role in leadership development and wants to determine members ' 'interest in both content and delivery formats. DHPE is interested in retaining the ability to interact with colleagues and helping participants benefit from a mentor relationship with a senior health education specialist. Content may be expanded to include leadership in population-based health promotion strategies. Delivery options, including distance learning and face-to-face interactive sessions, are being explored.
