DHPE has many opportunities for members and non-members to become involved. Fill out a VOLUNTEER FORM and specify the area below you are interested in. You can also select options for involvement when joining/renewing your membership.
Attend the Member Institute & Vote!
Each Regular or Voting Member shall be entitled to one vote on all matters coming before the Members. If the Regular Member is unable to attend a Membership meeting, the Regular Member may submit a written proxy to the Association’s Chair or its Executive Director prior to the official start of the meeting.
Associate Members are welcome to attend the Member Institute as well although they are not entitled to vote.
Board of Directors & Committees
Each Regular or Voting Member shall be entitled to serve as Directors and Officers and on committees of the Association. Associate Members may serve as Directors-at-Large and on committees of the Association.

DHPE has a rich internship available for students of Minority Serving Institutions (MSIs). The internship program offers students a unique experience to receive firsthand experience in health promotion and health education. The program has been designed to provide students with practical experiences in public health related to the core competencies of health education and to introduce the students to the essentials of public health. Early career professionals with a master or doctorate degree have an opportunity to gain practical public health experience at a state health agency. Members representing state health agencies are invited to serve as preceptors and sites for the year-long fellowship opportunity. Read more about Fellowships.
