Received from the CDC via email 8/6/2012
We are happy to share
with you the CDC Health Equity Resource Toolkit for State Practitioners
Addressing Obesity Disparities from Division of
Nutrition, Physical Activity, and Obesity.
The goal is to
increase the capacity of state health departments and their partners to work
with and through communities to implement effective responses to obesity in
populations that are facing health disparities. The Toolkit's primary focus is
on how to create policy, systems, and environmental changes that will reduce
obesity disparities and achieve health equity.
The Toolkit can be
found on the Center for Training and Research Translation's (Center TRT)
click on Health Equity tab.
We hope you will
Coming this spring
will be a web-based training to compliment the Toolkit. This training will: (1)
inform States, communities and their partners on the purpose and use of the
toolkit; (2) orient practitioners on the range of specific approaches and
interventions for disparate populations; and (3) assist in the selection and
integration of interventions with appropriate environmental and policy
strategies and approaches into existing programs or the implementation of new
programs to achieve health equity.
