The Directors of Health Promotion and Education (DHPE) is excited to kick off Every Kid Healthy™ Week, an annual observance celebrating school health and wellness achievements! This special week shines a spotlight on the link between nutrition, physical activity and learning and the ways in which K-12 schools are partnering with other community organizations to improve the health and wellness of K-12 students in nontraditional ways.

As a member of the Partnering4Health community, you are also part of the national movement to improve the health and wellness of K-12 students and to highlight the link between nutrition, physical activity and learning.

Here are a few ways to take action and to make the connection between your work and Every Kid Healthy Week:

Celebrate Every Kid Healthy Week with a special event – or join an event that is already happening in your community:

o       Check out the Every Kid Health Week events calendar and interactive map for more information: http://www.actionforhealthykids.org/events

o       Take a look at what’s happening in your state: http://www.actionforhealthykids.org/in-your-state

o       Volunteer at a local school!

Join the national events and forums happening during Every Kid Healthy Week!

o       Check out EKHW’s social media hub and join the conversation!

Together we can help all 130,000-plus U.S. schools provide healthy foods, quality health and physical education, and comprehensive physical activity for all 55 million students by 2030.
