The Directors of Health Promotion and Education (DHPE) is celebrating National Nutrition Month by promoting the many benefits of eating a healthy and balanced diet. During the month of March, we encourage people of all ages, especially those with lupus, to learn more about nutrition and try new, healthy foods!
DHPE's LEAP: Lupus Education and Awareness for Patients, Professionals and Providers program encourages you to review new research from the Lupus Foundation of America (LFA) regarding the diet of people with lupus.
It is important for people with lupus to eat a nutritious, well-balanced, and varied diet that contains plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grains and fatty fish, as well as moderate amounts of red meat. Read the full article from LFA here.
