CDC Looks Back at 2015 and Forward to 2016
In the press release CDC Year in Review: What's Next?, CDC lays out some of its priority activities in 2015 and plans for 2016. They include: Ebola, Antibiotic Resistance, Global Health Security, Tobacco, Prescription Drug Overdose, and Lab Safety.

CDC Lays out 3 Buckets of Prevention
The Journal of Public Health Management and Practice recently published the commentary "The 3 Buckets of Prevention" by John Auerbach, CDC's Associate Director for Policy. The three-part framework seeks to maximize the likelihood that clinicians, insurers, and public health practitioners attend to traditional office-based approaches as well as innovative clinical approaches, and not neglect the community factors that impact health.

CDC Launches 6|18 Initiative
The CDC is partnering with health care purchasers, payers, and providers to improve health and control health care costs through the 6 | 18 Initiative. CDC has prioritized six high-burden health conditions with 18 effective interventions, including tobacco use, teen pregnancy and health care-associated infections. The initiative aligns evidence-based preventive practices with emerging value-based payment and delivery models.

Prevention Institute's Dialog 4 Health is holding the webinar The CDC 6|18 Initiative: Accelerating Evidence into Action on February 3 from 3:00 - 4:30 pm Eastern.
