CDC announced the award today of a new set of community prevention grants by the Centers for
Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The agency announced 193 awards, totaling $212 million, across all 50
states which will be used to fund evidence-based and innovative partnership
approaches to improve the health of Americans. A majority of these grants are
from the Prevention and Public Health Fund - the nation's first mandatory
investment toward preventing disease and illness. To view state-by-state releases.
DHPE is pleased to be one of five funded national
organizations. We will provide TA to the sub-recipients selected by the
American Heart Association, National WIC Directors, and an association of
community planners. One of our tasks is to ensure that these recipients
(yet to be named) are connected with their state health agency. Stay
Congratulations to all those DHPE members who also received
awards. Now the work begins!
