September brings awareness on two major health issues and the CDC highlights prevention and healthy outcomes.

National Childhood Obesity Awareness Month:

Learn about ways you can promote healthy growth in children and fight childhood obesity.

About 1 of every 5 (17%) children in the United States has obesity and certain groups of children are more affected than others. While there is no single or simple solution, National Childhood Obesity Awareness Month provides an opportunity for learning about ways to prevent and address this serious health concern.

Infant Mortality Awareness Month:

Learn more about infant mortality risk factors and take action to reduce the risk.

The death of a baby before his or her first birthday is called infant mortality. Unfortunately, about 25,000 infants die each year in the United States. The loss of a baby remains a sad reality for many families and takes a serious toll on the health and well-being of families.
