The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) "is launching hard-hitting ads for its 2014 Tips From Former Smokers campaign. Beginning July 7, these ads will run nationwide for nine weeks on television, radio, and billboards, online, and in theaters, magazines, and newspapers."
Funding available - The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has announced the availability of $60 million to support Navigators in Federally-facilitated and State Partnership Marketplaces in 2014-2015. Letters of intent are due by June 30th and applications by July 10th. An informational conference call is scheduled for Tuesday, July 1st, 1:30 - 3:00 p.m. (EDT)
The Bipartisan Policy Center, Alliance for a Healthier Generation, and American College of Sports Medicine have released a new white paper Teaching Nutrition and Physical Activity in Medical School: Training Doctors for Prevention-Oriented Care. "The paper shows that current training for many medical professionals in nutrition and exercise is inadequate to cope with the nation's obesity and chronic disease epidemic, and offers recommendations on how to remedy that deficit."

The 8th Biennial Childhood Obesity Conference is scheduled for June 29th - July 2nd, 2015 in San Diego, CA -- "The nation's largest, most influential collaboration of professionals dedicated to combating pediatric obesity/overweight."
