This past summer the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) issued an interim final rule on snacks and beverages (competitive foods) sold in schools through vending machines, school stores, a la carte, and on-campus fundraisers.
It would be helpful for USDA to receive comments in support of the rule to help counter any opposition. We hope you will consider commenting. The deadline to comment is October 28, 2013.
(FYI – we're not sure how the government shutdown will affect the regulatory process or whether the comment period will be extended. However, Regulations.gov is still accepting comments during the shutdown.)
