The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has created a new webpage,Resources for Implementing the Community Health Needs Assessment Process, providing resources to be used for community health needs assessments and community health improvement plans related to revised community benefit obligations for public hospitals under the Affordable Care Act. Also available is Principles to Consider for the Implementation of a Community Health Needs Assessment Process, authored bySara Rosenbaum, JD, of The George Washington University School of Public Health and Health Services, Department of Health Policy. "The Report identifies seven guiding principles to inform the implementation community health needs assessments and implementation plans, including those being conducted by nonprofit hospitals."
