Massachusetts Hosts a “Double Header”
Monday, May 20, 2013
This month the Massachusetts Department of Public Health's Division of Prevention and Wellness hosted its second Shaping Policy for Health™ training on Course 1: Assessing and Framing the Policy Problem which was held in Natick, MA on May 9-10, 2013. The SPH™ National Trainers were Nancy Berger and Aryka Chapman. There were 26 participants. We worked with Jean Zotter, Director of the Office on Integrated Policy, Planning and Management, and Tracy Evans, Program Coordinator of the same office.
Here are a few of the comments that participants shared about the Natick, MA training (see below):
I thought the training was engaging and a great mix of lecture and group work. It is very practical and I will use it while working with communities and coalitions. The lecturers worked very well together and shared experiences nicely. I would love to have more of the courses available to us.
I thought Nancy and Aryka had it TOGETHER! They were very helpful, credible, and organized. Exercises made sense and created some interesting discussions.
And as we remember the unfortunate events surrounding the Boston Marathon, Aryka Chapman captured this photo in Boston for us to keep close to our hearts. She said "I didn't feel like I could leave the area without paying my respects. A lot is covered in tarps because of the rain but this wasn't.”
Now, for some pictures of the actual training….
