Did you know that April National Minority Health Month? The US Department of Health and Human Services Office of Minority Health has launched this year's campaign with the theme, Advance Health Equity Now: Uniting Our Communities to Bring Health Care Coverage to All. This is a call to action, a charge for all of us to unite towards a common goal of improving the health of our communities and increasing access to quality, affordable health care for everyone by raising awareness about health disparities that continue to affect racial and ethnic minorities, and the health care law's groundbreaking policies to reduce these disparities and achieve health equity.
In conjunction with supporting their campaign, the Directors of Health Promotion and Education (DHPE) has taken this time to reflect on strides made to unveil health disparities impacting communities across this country. This month is also a time to highlight the accomplishments that have been and are being made to eliminate health disparities and the movement toward health equity for all. Our activity is one that will test your knowledge of minority health and the contributions of minorities to the science and practice of public health. You can Test Your Knowledgeby clicking and taking the test. However, be honest and do not use any references to complete the quiz including the internet, books, co-workers, friends, etc. Will be awarding prizes at the end of the month!
