A new report, States Spend Less Than Two Cents of Every Tobacco Dollar to Reduce Tobacco Use, finds that less than two cents of every dollar from the 1998 tobacco settlement is invested in tobacco-control programs. The report, produced by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network, American Heart Association, Americans for Nonsmokers Rights, American Lung Association and Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids also details that "States are falling woefully short of recommended funding levels for tobacco preventionprograms set by the CDC."
