Keller, BA Purpose/Mission: The DHPE Marketing Workgroup works with members and partners to build a strong identity for DHPE, clearly defining who we are, what we do, and how we want to be perceived and used by our members, customers and funders. The Identity Platform recommended by the Branding Workgroup in May 2002, and adopted by the Executive Committee/Board of Directors in October 2002, provides a clear statement of Mission, Objective, Target Audience, Positioning, Brand Essence and Brand Character. The Mission of DHPE’S marketing effort is to strengthen, promote, and enhance the professional practice of health promotion and public health education nationally and within State health departments. Our Objective is to be the leading resource for professional and program development in health promotion and public health education within the public health system. The Marketing Workgroup and the DHPE Executive Committee/Board of Directors have adopted an action plan that includes developing a communications and marketing plan based on customer need, and consideration of a name change to more clearly and succinctly describe who we are.
