Do you work with schools or want to learn about what is happening in schools? Do you provide nutrition education to children? Schools play an important role in childhood obesity prevention efforts because children spend so much of their day at school. Recent changes to nutrition standards for school meals and snacks and stronger implementation of school wellness policies are helping to make school environments healthier. Come learn about the school nutrition standards and USDA's national sodium reduction initiative, What’s Shaking? Creative Ways to Boost Flavor With Less Sodium. You will also hear about free, evidence-based nutrition education resources for those working with preschool through middle school students. From school gardening curricula to planning wellness activities to creative ways to engage kids at summer meals sites, Team Nutrition has it all! These materials are based on the Dietary Guidelines for Americans and MyPlate and follow national education standards. Take advantage of this opportunity to learn about these exciting resources to support your work to improve the school environment and provide nutrition education!

NOTE - Only the first 100 registered attendees will be able to join the live SOPHE webinar. All webinars are recorded and available in archive format on SOPHE's CORE (www.sophe.org/education.cfm) for viewing at your convenience after the event. Please join the event early to participate live. Please send your questions, comments and feedback to info@sophe.org.
