The Law and Ethics of Those with Special Needs Conference

The University of Arizona, February 18-20, 2015

This conference will gather physicians, attorneys, educators, and public policy experts interested in the law and ethics of those with special needs. The conference will focus on the dynamic and challenging world of those with special needs, and will examine issues beyond the boundaries of the classical ethical questions of disability. Specifically, the conference will explore the relationship between the law and ethics as it relates to those with special needs, including questions of access, fairness, personhood, and basic civil and human rights for all people. Attendees will return home inspired and better equipped to consider these profoundly important issues, as they impact some of our most vulnerable patient populations, including those with severe intellectual disabilities.
