The Healthy People 2020 Progress Review focusing on Older Adults and Dementias, including Alzheimer’s Disease, is scheduled for June 19, 2014, from 12:30-2:00 p.m.

Please register for the upcoming Healthy People 2020 Progress Review on Older Adults and Dementias, including Alzheimer’s Disease, and share the registration information widely with your colleagues.

Registration takes about 2 minutes and can be accessed here:  http://www.healthypeople.gov/2020/learn/webinars.aspx  Look for the session entitled:  Healthy People 2020 Progress Review Webinar.

Dr. Howard Koh, the Assistant Secretary for Health, will introduce the session and be followed by an CDC/NCHS representative providing key data related to older adult health. Three federal agency representatives (from NIA, ACL, and CDC) will then speak; Wayne Giles will be speaking for CDC.  For those of you who assisted with content for Wayne’s presentation, many thanks!

There will then be presentations by Susan Snyder of Senior Services (Seattle/King County) and Nichole Shepard from Salt Lake County Aging and Adult Services to provide community-based perspectives.  There will be an opportunity for questions from the audience following all presentations.

The review will be in D.C.  In addition to the physical audience present, we understand that there are over 2,000 phone lines through which people can participate.  We’d like to ensure we get as large an audience as possible for this important event, thus sending a strong message of the broad interest in and support for older adult health.
