A Way to Improve AI – The Evolution of Learning

Technology often leads us in our progress towards greatness. Humanity was made better by investing in science and technology. From steam power to electricity, and today, computers. Yes, computers are almost everywhere, from your cash register, your phone, to your actual computer, not to mention servers which power the internet that enable you to use Grosvenor bonus code. All of us love using the internet to find results whether for various symptoms of illnesses, workout routines, music, movies or entertainment in general, or for serious research regarding any topic. That being said, AIs have started to become a trend, to the point where many large companies have started investing large sums in AI research. Compared to the days of old, AIs today are a bit different, because we strive to teach them to sort of think on their own. Here is a brief look at the history of AI research and how it has evolved over the years.

The First AIs – Complex Scripts

We have all heard of various stories of AIs which are less AI than we think. Just recall playing arcade video games, the oldest ones, which always had some sort of computer playing against you.

AIs at that period were simple scripts which played based on your movements or inputs, depending on the game, or on the best possible outcome in that situation. In other words, they were basically programmed to react to situations in certain ways, meaning that they could be exploited, something which plenty of people did in those video games, and even some modern ones. But, things changed in the 2010s, even though the changes started a bit earlier.

Modern AIs – Machines Which Learn

Evolving AIs meant that the methodology had to be changed. It was no longer possible to continue making computers as complex scripts, but rather, as machines which had to learn to improve. This was first seen as part of search engine suggestions, as well as results. Based on a ton of data, which search engines luckily provide, we are able to have much better suggestions and results.

In other parts of the industry, AIs are taught patterns and styles, whether of art or music or anything else for that matter, and are asked to create something based on what they know. Often, there is another AI which is supposed to monitor the first one and decide whether the created piece of work was done by a human or AI. It then becomes a somewhat of a loop which teaches the AI what works and what doesn’t.

Modern AIs also have access to a lot more data, which makes their learning process easier, compared to the experiments done in the past. AI research was waiting for the rest of the technological advance to enable it, and now is its time.

From complex scripts to machines which learn and correct themselves, AI has come a long way. The future will probably see plenty more AIs, doing many more complex things which are considered impossible today.
